SOUTH CHARLESTON, Wv. – The Brescia University softball team reached the conference tournament for the first time in nine years. The #5 seeded Bearcats faced off against the #4 seed IU Southeast where they dropped the opening game, 13-7. The Bearcats were sent to the loser’s bracket in the double elimination format of the postseason and were to play #2 Shawnee State. BU fell to the Bears ending their tournament run, 9-4.

OWENSBORO, Ky – The Brescia University softball team landed their first conference win and loss in their pair of games this afternoon. The offensive production in game one was the difference as the Lady Bearcats run-ruled the Golden Bears, 12-0, in five innings. Game two proved more difficult for the Bearcats as WVU-Tech woke up the bats to split the series with a 7-3 win of their own. BU extends their overall record to 2-8 and RSC record to 1-1.

Bearcats Split with Cross Town Rival, Kentucky Wesleyan

OWENSBORO, KY – The Brescia University softball team met up with their cross-town rival, DII Kentucky Wesleyan College. A matchup that has been imbedded in history the past 20 years; the Lady Bearcats are starting to shrink the Panther’s 17-13 win/lose record against the DII powerhouse. Last night, the Panthers came to our house where BU got the split in the doubleheader. The Bearcats couldn’t get the bats going in the first game as the Panthers struck first with a 6-1 win. Brescia bounced back in game two grabbing a run-rule victory over KWC to win game two, 10-2 in five innings.
