Lady Bearcats compete at Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic
The Lady Bearcats took on Franklin-Pierce in their first game in Myrtle Beach. They came up short due to a couple errors and lost 1-2 Cassidy Moss led the way going 2-3. Lauren Willett pitched the whole game only giving up 2 hits and striking out 5.
In the second game against Shawnee State which went into the 8 inning, the Bearcats lost 6-7. The Lady Cats belted 13 hits total. Haley Frizzell led the way going 2-3 with a double. Courtney Klueppel, Keely Eans, Emma Turner, and Haylee Carter all went 2-4. Allison Russell pitched the full game giving up 8 hits and striking out 8.
The Bearcats where scheduled to play 2 games per day (a total of 8 games) while in Myrtle Beach but due to a lot of rain they only got 2 games in. They are headed back to Kentucky today. Even though they were not able to play more games, the team really enjoyed being at the beach and team bonding. They look forward to getting back home and winning some games.
The Lady Bearcats are on the road next against Oakland City for a dobule header. Game one set to start at 3:30 pm (CST) on March 10th.
