Bearcats lose two in season home opener

On Saturday March 6th, Brescia Bearcats Softball hosted St. Francis from Joliet, IL. In game one Madison Simms took to the mound. She gave up 9 hits, 3 walks, and had 1 strikeout. Edie Little went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a hit by pitch. Cassie Moss went 2 for 3 with 2 singles. Haley Carter went 1 for 3 with a 2 RBI double in the 7th inning. Bearcats lost 4-8 with 6 hits, 6 strikouts, and 1 walk.

In the second game, Freshmen Raini Gerometta took to the mound. St. Francis had 9 hits, 3 walks, 4 strikeouts and 3 doubles against the Bearcats pitcher. The Bearcats had 6 hits, 0 strikeouts, and 2 walks. Courtney Peyton came out of the gate with a double to right center. Haley Carter and Bailey Caster had one stolen base a piece. The team as a whole, had 6 hits, 0 strikeouts, and 2 walks. Ultimately losing the closing game 1-4.

The Bearcats next game is Wednesday, March 10th @ Campbellsville.
