COLUMBUS, In. – The Brescia University women's soccer team earned their second conference win on the road against IU Columbus, 2-1. The Bearcats improve their record to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in RSC play.
The Bearcats continued with a full head of steam following their 7-0 win over Kentucky Christian, taking on the Crimson Pride on their home turf. Despite 12 shots taken by BU in the first half, IUC kept the Bearcats scoreless through the first 45 minutes. The first goal of the game happened in the 51st minute as newcomer, Ana Victorica, netted her eighth goal of the season on the assists from Allana Colen Porto. Senior, Geneva Hann, buried the Bearcats second goal just a minute late on a ball near midfield after a foul call. The senior's first goal of the season gave the Bearcat's the extra insurance for the win. Columbus cut the lead in half in the 81st minute on a foul called against BU in the box for a penalty kick.
Despite the call, the Bearcats walked out victorious with the 2-1 lead.
The Bearcats will return home to take on Rio Grande this Saturday, Oct. 4, at 1pm at Kamuf Park.
