Women's Volleyball Slips to 0-6 in Conference After Weekend Matches
OWENSBORO, KY – The Brescia University women’s volleyball team extends their record to 0-6 in RSC play after a pair of losses to St. Mary of the Woods and IU-Kokomo. The Bearcats extend their overall record to 1-12 on the year.

OWENSBORO, KY – The Brescia University women's volleyball team extends their record to 0-6 in RSC play after a pair of losses to St. Mary of the Woods and IU-Kokomo. The Bearcats extend their overall record to 1-12 on the year.
Game 1: SMWC 3 Brescia 0
With injuries still riddling the Bearcat team, BU would drop their match against SMWC in three sets. The Pomeroys would waste no time taking a quick lead as they jumped to a 10-2 lead. The Bearcats would only score 10 points in the first set as St. Mary's would take set one 25-10. There was room for improvement in set two as the Bearcats would go point for point with the Pomeroys. Tied at 11, the Pomeroys would start to pull away scoring seven unanswered points. Unfortunately, the Bearcats would not recover from the deficit as St. Mary's took a two-set lead
The Pomeroys would take set three in the same fashion as the previous set as they walk away with a 3-0 win.
Jasmin Jones led the Bearcats in kills with eight while Cheaney Archer racked up 9 assists. Katie Fitzgerald and Kaitlyn Orange both led the team with double digit digs.
Game 2: IU-Kokomo 3 Brescia 0
After taking a loss to St. Mary's, the Bearcats were set to take on #21 IU-Kokomo. The Cougars lived up to their ranking as they took the first set 25-4. In set two, the Bearcats seemed more lively as they began to trade points with the Cougars. BU would get within one of the lead after an a IUK attack error to notch the score 13-12. The Bearcats could not keep pace with the Cougars as they take set two 25-16. The third set would end with the exact same score as the second as the Bearcats drop their sixth conference matchup this season.
Jasmin Jones and Cheaney Archer both ended with five kills apiece while Olivia Shaver picked up 14 assists.
The Bearcats take the floor again this coming Tuesday, September 26 at Bethel in McKenzie, TN with a 6pm CT start.
