Men's Volleyball Downed by Eagles on the Road

WALESKA, Ga. – The Brescia University men's volleyball team started their two-day road trip with a matchup against Reinhardt. The Bearcats extended their record to 2-3 following the 3-0 set loss to the Eagles.

The Bearcats started ahead early, jumping out to a 4-1 lead. BU took advantage of attack errors while adding a few kills and a service ace to keep the Eagles at bay. An Eagles timeout shifted the momentum for Reinhardt as they knotted the score at nine on consecutive kills. Despite going on a five-point run, the Bearcats couldn't hold off the Eagles in set one as Reinhardt take the first game 25-23.

BU struggled to gather momentum in the second set as attack errors riddled the Bearcat offense. A kill by Miguel Pereira gave the Bearcats the motivation they needed to make a push late in the third set as they attempted to extend the match. With a four-point lead, the Eagles came storming back to take the third and final set with a score of 25-22.

Tuna Konukcu led the BU offense with 11 kills on 23 attempts as Mustafa Yildiz followed with six. Meric Akovali gathered 29 assists and five digs in the match

BU will travel to Marietta, GA to take on Life Saturday, February 8^th at 1pm CT.
