Women's Volleyball Beat Bulldogs in Four-Set Affair
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Brescia University women’s volleyball team traveled to Campbellsville University Wednesday night for a neutral game against Union Commonwealth. The Bearcats came out on top taking three sets to one over the Bulldogs. BU extends their overall record to 4-5 on the year.

The Bearcats jumped out to an early 11-4 lead in the first set on a kill by Kendyn Syfert. Union struggled on the offensive line as BU started to run away with the set. A dumped ball by setter, Cheaney Archer, sealed the final point of set one as the Bearcats took the 25-18 win. Union took the early lead in set two, but the Bearcats answered quickly with a seven-point run. Five consecutive kills gave BU the 18-5 lead as they looked to take set two as well. The Bearcats did just that with a final set score of 25-11, hitting .312 in the game. On the verge of the sweep, the Bulldogs were able to put the ball on the court often as the avoid the third set loss. BU cleaned up their mistakes in set four as they took the win, 25-19, to win the match in four sets.
Kendyn Syfert led the charge with 13 kills on 31 chances with 11 digs. Senior, Cheaney Archer, totaled 34 assists in the match while senior, Campbell McBride, had 25 digs.
The Bearcats will travel to St. Louis, MO on Thursday, Sep. 4, to take on UHSP at 6pm CT.
