GOSHEN, IN. – The Brescia University women's soccer team falls 1-0 to Goshen on the road. The Bearcats fall to 1-2 after their historic win against #16 Grace on Thursday.
Despite earning the biggest win in program history against nationally ranked Grace, the Bearcats fell Saturday afternoon to Goshen College on the road 1-0. The BU defense played well in the first period until the 37th minute where the Leafs would net their one and only goal. Although having 10 shots, the Bearcats could not find the back of the net on the five shots they had on frame.
The Bearcat defense and goalie Ashby Greenwell kept the Leafs scoreless the rest of the match as they could not find an equalizer by the end of regulation.
Greenwell has put on a goalkeeping clinic the last few matches as she records 10 saves on 11 shots with only one goal relinquished. Maci Uffelman led the team with four total shots in her season debut after a red card suspension at the end of last season prevented her from seeing action.
The Lady Bearcats return to the pitch this Saturday against Trinity Christian at home with a kickoff time of 11am. For more updates on the women's soccer team, follow Brescia Women's Soccer on socials or visit BresciaBearcats.com.
