Men's Volleyball Bested by Oakland City in RSC Tournament
OAKLAND CITY, In. – Men’s Volleyball ended the regular season as the #6 seed in the River States Conference Tournament. The Bearcats drew #3 seed Oakland City as they traveled to the Mighty Oaks in the opening round.
RSC Quarterfinal: Bearcats 1 Oakland City 3 (21-25, 25-23, 23-25, 22-25)
After defeating the Mighty Oaks in the final home match of the year, BU traveled to Oakland City for the opening match of the tournament. The Bearcats fell in four sets to OCU to end their run in the championship.
Taking an early lead was important to the Bearcat team in this crucial rematch. In set one, the Bearcats held a three-point lead following an attack error. The Bearcats struggled with service and receiving errors which led to a 5-2 run and set win for the Oaks.
This matchup remained tight throughout as the Bearcats evened the set score after winning set two, 25-23. After holding a two-point advantage, the Oaks were able to take the lead on an attack error by the Bearcats offense. BU took set two thanks to a service error by Oakland City as they tied the set score.
The Bearcats were outhit by the Mighty Oaks in the final two sets as OCU avenged their regular season loss in the playoff matchup.
