Men's Volleyball Falls to (RV) Oakland City
OAKLAND CITY, In. - The Brescia University men’s volleyball team took a three-set loss to receiving votes Oakland City. The Bearcats extended their record to 6-9 overall and 1-4 in RSC play.

The Mighty Oaks took an early 7-4 lead in the opening set. Back-to-back kills by Ben Zerwes and Malo Vanderwalle tied the set at nine as the Bearcats looked to make a run. OCU maintained their lead until a block by Joaquin Palacios knotted the score for a second time. BU took the lead on another double block involving Palacios as they held the advantage for the next three points. The momentum for Brescia faltered as the Mighty Oaks came back to take set one, 25-22.
Each team traded points on the scoreboard in set two as two consecutive attack errors by Oakland gave BU the two-point lead. The Mighty Oaks found holes in the defense as they took set two, 25-23. The Bearcats remained competitive in set three as they went point-by-point against the Mighty Oaks. Unfortunately, the Bearcats struggled offensively hitting in the negatives for the final set.
The Bearcats hit just .031 as a team as Mustafa Yildiz and Remi Pit led with five kills apiece. Finn Berger and Will Hernandez combined for 24 assists as Pit and Vanderwalle each had 11 digs.
The Bearcats will travel to Terre Haute, IN to take on St. Mary of the Woods Saturday, March 7th at 2pm.
