Bearcats Volunteer at Owensboro Center Nursing Home
The Brescia men's and women's cross country teams took part in a group community service project to help the community most effected by the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday, November 17th.
Each member of the team wrote two letters to residents at the Owensboro Center nursing home to become pen pals. "We're all so busy with our own challenges in life that I think at times we forget how much a small gesture can mean to someone," said Assistant Coach Kyle Robinson.
"With the limitations on visits that are on nursing homes due to the pandemic, I believe this is a safe way to show support to the people in our community who need it most."
The team wrote approximately 40 letters that will be mailed just in time for the holiday season.
The promotion of servant leadership is one of the pillars of The Brescia Difference, which also includes Respect for the Sacred, Devotion to Learning, and Commitment to Growth in Virtue.
