Lady Bearcats compete at Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic
On Saturday, the women's track team competed at the Midwest Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan.
The competition started with the women's 5,000m run where Olivia Warren (Jr) ran a time of 20:10.0 which is the 77th fastest time in the NAIA this year. Teammate Jasmine Pulliam was also in the race clocking a 21:05. The 800m run featured an outstanding performance from Cassie King (Jr) running a personal best of 2:46.8, which is good for 3rd all-time at Brescia. Embra Hawkins continued her string of great races where she won her section on the 3,000m in a time of 11:24.8; the second fastest mark in Brescia history.
"Embra could have actually run a faster time, but we wanted to get the win. So, we waited around an extra few laps for her to take the lead", said Coach Schulze.
The Bearcats will race again next weekend on Saturday 2/15 at Depauw University.
