Women's Track and Field Finish 3rd at RSC Championship; 3 Bearcats Earn Indoor Awards

MARIETTA, Oh. - The Brescia University Track and Field teams competed at the RSC Indoor T&F Championship this past weekend where the women's team finished 3rd out of the eight conference teams. 

The most decorated athlete, in either gender, at the Championships was Senior Jordyn Cardwell. The Bearcat won four gold medals and added a silver, placing first in the long jump, triple jump, 55 meters, and 200 meters and coming in second in a dramatic high jump event. Cardwell's win in the 200 meter dash may have been the most exciting of the weekend, as the standout bested St. Mary-of-the-Woods' Hope McGuire for gold by one hundredth of a second.

Tia McGee followed Cardwell in the long jump and triple jump, finishing both events with the silver, while taking the gold and the meet record in the 55 meter hurdles. 

Ashby Greenwell finished 7th in the shot put on day one and followed with a 4th place finish in the weighted throw on day two.

Greenwell and Declan Armistead each earn the Champion of Character award for their respected teams as Jordyn Cardwell captured Field Athlete of the Year for the Bearcats.
