Brescia Falls in Season Opener
The Brescia University women's tennis team fell to the Patriots of Hanover College 9-0 on Thursday afternoon at the Owensboro Tennis Complex.
Hanover started strong, sweeping all three doubles matches by a margin of 8-0.
In singles action, Dakota Durrett dropped the #1 singles match 6-2, 6-2 while fellow senior Tarsila Duck was beaten 6-3, 6-0 at the #3 spot.
"Despite the final score, we were not far off from Hanover. All of the games were close and it just comes down to making a shot here and there. We will continue to work on our consistency and I feel we will be much improved by the time conference play rolls around." said Coach Jack Etchison.
The Bearcats return to action Saturday against Franklin College at 12:00 PM at the Owensboro Tennis Complex
