Bio
Meet the Players!
At what age did you begin playing your sport?
I was three when I started playing!
Who was your favorite athlete growing up, and who is your favorite athlete now?
My favorite athlete growing up was Alex Hugo, she played softball for the Georgia Bulldogs. I think why I liked her so much was that she was not focused on hitting home runs but more being able to help her team. She focused on line drives and moving runners and not just the show of the home run. Which is similar to my approach at the plate. My favorite player now would be Stetson Bennett. He was the quarterback that won the national championship in football this year for the Georgia Bulldogs. The reason why he is one of my favorites is because he started out at a junior college. He then worked his way up to Georgia. I think he is an important role model for kids like me that decide to play their first two years at the junior college level. Even though you start out there does not mean you are a bad player but just offers the experience needed to be successful somewhere else.
What is the most memorable sporting event that you have attended?
For me it was watching the longest game in the championship series at the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. It was a 17 inning game that lasted five and a half hours. It was awesome to see everybody play their role from start to finish even if it was pinch running or hitting every player was giving it their all. We even saw Oklahoma pull an outfielder to pitch one inning to throw Florida’s timing off. It was especially memorable because I got to experience it with my mom, sister and grandpa!
What is your favorite place that you have traveled to?
I wouldn’t say I really have a favorite place to go but have really enjoyed traveling. I think my favorite place is the car because the car means long funny road trips with my mom. It means going to a new place to play softball for the week. I have made so many memories in a car that outshine any place I have ever traveled.
What is your pre and post-game meal of choice?
In travel ball my pre-game meal was a hotel bagel with cream cheese and grape jelly. When I played junior college softball it was a Starbucks iced coffee but if we were on the road I would go back to my bagel creation. My post game meal the last two years playing junior college is just wherever the bus stops. But if I had the choice it would definitely be Mackie's Pizza in Harrisburg where I am from I would definitely be eating some bread sticks!
Why did you choose to come to Brescia?
When picking where I wanted to transfer I wanted something close to home. I had been on other visits and nothing was really clicking for me but when I went to Brescia everything just clicked. Owensboro is a wonderful city that has plenty of things to do so I will never be bored but most importantly I picked Brescia because of the coaching staff. Talking to Coach Smith and even all the staff that knows her they were not lying when they said that she cares for her players.
