Men's and Women's Cross Country Open Season at Panther Prowl
OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia University men’s and women’s cross-country team ran in the Panther Prowl this past weekend at Yellow Creek Park.
OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia University men's and women's cross-country team ran in the Panther Prowl this past weekend at Yellow Creek Park.
The women's team had an excellent race and placed 4th overall, edging out Lindsey Wilson. Mallory Wilson led the team by placing 9th overall with a personal best time of 20:20 over the 5k distance. Mia Grosshan's and Lexus McMurray also ran personal best times for 5k cross country. Helping the team place well was Alliyah Thomas and Faith Mpassy who ran side by side for most of the race.
On the men's side Nick Greer led the team and managed to walk away with a four-minute personal best for 6k running a time of 22:04. Right behind him was freshman Jaxson Cartwright who had a great college opener of 22:35. Brody Kurz and Blake Mullins ran well to score 3rd and 4th for Brescia. Matthew Parsons and Arthur Happel helped the team even after competing all day at a local tennis tournament. "Overall, I am proud of both teams and looking forward to our next race at Midway University this Friday Sept. 19th where the women will be racing the full 6k distance and men racing the 8k", Head Coach Kyle Embry exclaimed.
Both Bearcat cross-country teams will head to Versailles, KY to run in the Midway University XC Invitational on Sep. 19th.
