Brown Leads Bearcats at RSC Championship
The Brescia men's cross country team competed at the River States Conference Cross Country Championship on November 6th at IU East.
The Bearcats placed 12th, with many of the student-athletes running their fastest times on IU East's course -- including two career PR's (personal records).
Benjamin Brown (JR/Memphis, MI) led the Bearcats, finishing 47th overall with an 8k time of 30:39.
Wes Wheatley (JR/Hawesville, KY) was the next Bearcat to cross the finish line, running a time of 33:24 on the challenging course, which is just one second off of his season PR.
Soon after Wheatley finished, James Barrow (JR/Elizabethtown, KY) completed the 8k in 33:53, which is his second fastest time this season. Barrow also earned the RSC Champions of Character award.
Draven Stewart (SO/Leitchfield, KY) was the next Bearcat to cross the finish line, running a career PR of 34:07. This is the third time this season that Stewart has PR'd in the 8k.
Cross Country newcomer Joseph Tapia (JR/Owensboro, KY) rounded out the top five for the Bearcats, running a career PR of 39:26.
The Bearcats will take a short break and then return for the 2021-2022 track & field season.
