Bearcats Race at the Greater Louisville Classic
The Brescia men's cross country team was one of 57 teams to compete in the blue race at the Greater Louisville Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky -- a course that has hosted numerous National Championship meets -- in a day that resulted in several season bests.
Benjamin Brown (FR, Memphis, Mich.) finished the 8k race in 29:30, marking his first time going under 30 minutes.
Tyler Walz (FR, Hawesville, Ky.) and Wes Wheatley (FR, Hawesville, Ky.) both finished the race in 32:10, each running a significant personal record. James Barrow (FR, Elizabethtown, Ky.) finished the race at 32:26, also running a big personal best from his previous race.
Ethan Dooley (FR, Hopkinsville, Ky.) also ran a personal record, running the race in 33:49 and rounded out the Bearcats' top five.
"I am very pleased with our performances from today. Each one of our men that raced today set PR's, you cannot ask for more than that. We will have our full squad back for Fast Cats this upcoming weekend which will give us a good look at where we are heading into our final two meets," said Head Coach Luke Stoffel.
The Bearcats will be back in action on October 12 at the Fast Cats Classic -- the team's home invitational -- at Yellow Creek Park at 9:30 a.m.
