Bearcats Spoil Midway's Senior Night with a 3-1 Win
MIDWAY, Ky. – The Brescia University men’s volleyball team took a 3-1 set victory over the Midway Eagles. The Bearcats extended their record to 6-17 on the year and 3-6 in conference play.

BU came out swinging hard in the first set as they took an early 13-7 lead over the Eagles on the kill by Connor Lilly. Although the Eagles made a quick comeback, the Bearcats walked away with the set one win, 25-22. The Eagles seemed more eager in set two as they came back to tie the Bearcat lead after attack errors by BU allowed Midway to grab the one-point lead. The Bearcats were able to lock back in, tying the score twice before the Eagles got the final kill to win set two. Momentum seemed to shift in favor of the Eagles as they began set three with a 15-10 lead. BU got within three of the lead as they began to shut out the Eagles, scoring 10 unanswered points to take set three, 25-18. The Eagles lost steam in set four as BU surged out to an early 8-2 lead. The Bearcat lead was too much for the Eagles as Brescia spoils Midways' efforts at a comeback to take the win, 3-1.
Tuna Konukcu led the team with 13 kills as Finn Berger followed with 11 kills of his own. Meric Akovali finished with 41 assists and six kills.
Up next, the Bearcats wrap up their final game of the regular season against Georgetown at home this Thursday as 6pm CT.
