Bearcats have Strong Showing at DePauw Invitational
The men's track and field team traveled to Greencastle, Indiana to compete in the DePauw University Invitational. The Bearcats came away with 25 points, which landed them in 7th place. Rose-Hulman won the team title with 221.5 points.
Jaleel Parris had a personal best in the long jump, 6.42 meters finishing in 3rd place. He also had a season best in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.41 finishing in 6th place. Parris was also a member of the 4x100 team that finished in 4th place. Jaleel led the way for the Bearcats scoring in 3 out of the 4 events he competed in.
Other point scorers for the Bearcats:
Landon Holt 4th place in the 400-meter dash with a season best time of 50.12. Holt was also a member of the 4x100.
Tyrell Jacobs 4th place in the long jump with a season best jump of 6.37 meters. Jacobs was also a member of the 4x100.
Tyler Harris was a member of the 4th place finishing 4x100.
Kyle Robinson finished 8th in the 5000-meter race in a time of 17:07.
"Each week we are seeing improvements. It is very encouraging and gets me excited to see how these guys will compete at the conference championship in a few weeks. We had four guys have season best performances and Jaleel break his personal best in the long jump. I could not be happy with where we are at this point in the season", said Coach Stoffel.
The Bearcats have a weekend off from competition and will resume April 21st as they travel to Rose-Hulman. The invitational is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm.
