Brescia Men's Tennis Cruises Past KWC
Facing Kentucky Wesleyan for the second time in fall season, Brescia University men's tennis (3-0) defeat the Panthers 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at the Owensboro Tennis Center.
The Panthers took the doubles point to start the day, earning victories on courts one and three. Joao Paulo De Carvalho/Germano De Carvalho picked up the lone victory at the No. 2 doubles position.
In singles Joao Pontes won at number 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Brescia continued to dominate with a victory 6-3, 6-3 on court two by Joao Paulo De Carvalho. Germano De Carvalho took a 6-0, 6-0 win at number 4, Aleksa Stefanovic won 6-2, 6-1 at number 3 singles and Parker Johnston won 6-2, 6-3 at number 5 singles and Juan Tavera was the only player that went 3 sets and got the win 6-3, 6-3, 1-0 at number 6 singles. "The guys really stepped it up after doubles and took the victory and played good tennis as everyone stepped up and took the victory, could not be any prouder", stated Coach Riley.
