Brescia Men's tennis team sweeps Ohio Cristian 7-2
Circleville, OH – Men's tennis team won their conference match with a 7-2 sweep, only losing two matches because of forfeits against Ohio Cristian University on Monday.
The Bearcats jumped out to the early lead through doubles action and never looked back. Playing on court 1, Danila Pyzh and Daniel Paez Fernandez beat Sam Baker and Trent Short 8-0. Moments later, the tandem of Daniel Stueland and Noah Ray topped Sammy Diggs and Nathan Gaines 8-0.
In singles, Noah Ray quickly gave Brescia a 3-0 advantage with 6-1, 6-2 win over Gideon Driver. Freshman Daniel Stueland continued his stellar performance on court three, where he sealed a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Moments after Emerson Durbin picked up the fifth point for the team 7-5, 6-4. The Bearcats would go on to capture the final two courts in straight-set fashion, with No.1 Danila Pyzh besting Sam Baker 6-0 6-0, while No.2 Daniel Paez topped Nathan Gaines 6-0 6-0.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Saturday when they face Asbury University in Lexington, KY.
