Weston Wood led the three freshman that played with an impressive 73 on day one while following it up with a 78 on day two to finish tied with Howard for 13th overall. Jordan Baer struggled a bit with the flat stick shooting 83/82 for the two days finishing 36th overall. Matthew Godsey rounded out the five with a tough 87 on day one and continued to struggle a bit with an 83 on day two to finish 43rd in the 47 player field.
Words from the Coach
"Being the first event, there are signs of solid play along with a heavy dose of rust coming out of the winter. The guys have been working hard through qualifying, and the team overall is playing well at times, but mental mistakes and lack luster in the short game department is showing up from time to time. The lack of consistency around the greens coupled with bouncing back after a bad hole or two is slowing us down right now. We will have to clean that up and make some adjustments before our next event at home in the KWC Spring Invitational".
