Men's Basketball Earns All-Conference Awards
OWENSBORO, KY – The River States Conference and NAIA have released its Men’s Basketball Award winners for the 2023-24 season. The Bearcats landed two on the All-Conference Teams as well as placed highly in the league for certain statistics.

Taeron Hogg was named to the RSC All-Conference 2nd team. Hogg averaged 18.4 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game. He also led the Bearcats in offensive rebounds with 47, defensive rebounds with 83, total rebounds with 130, and block with 23. His points per game average was the 9th ranking player in the conference.
Cory Gardner was named to the RSC All-Conference 3rd team as he averaged 19.4 points per game, 4.3 assists per game, and 2.3 steals per game. Gardner and John Saenz ranked first and third in the conference in steals per game (Saenz 3.0 steals/game, Gardner 2.3 steals/game). Saenz ranked third in the country with his numbers while Gardner ranked 14th. Corey also ranked 6th in the conference in points per game.
For the second year in a row, the Bearcats have two players that are ranked nationally for steals per game. Last season, BU had three players who ranked in the top four sports in the RSC for steals. As a team, the Bearcats ranked top two in steals per game in the RSC this season after ranking first last season with 12.8 per game.
Saenz was also named the Bearcats' Champion of Character for exemplifying the NAIA and the men's basketball team's five core values.
The Bearcats ranked 4th in field goal percentage at 46.8% which led them to average 80.7 points per game. Not only did this number rank them 4th in conference, but it also ranked them 4th in Brescia school history.
Ksuan Casey had a hot start to the year as he broke the school record for most points in a game with 52 against UHSP since digital stats back at the start of 2003-04. He was named RSC Basketball Player of the Week for this performance with the double-double against the Eutectics. Casey also tabbed NAIA Player of the Week for his performance against UHSP and his 16-point, 5 rebound game against DI UT-Martin.
