Men's Basketball Falls on the Road to the Cougars

Both teams would go back-and-forth on the floor taking their shots as a Cory Gardner layup would give the Bearcats a one-point lead. With six minutes to play in the first half, the Cougars pounce out on a 12-5 run with three minutes until half.
The Bearcats would turn it on in the second half, going on a massive 15-2 run. A minute of scoreless basketball would give the Cougars momentum to cut the Bearcat lead to one. A layup by Camden Pfeister would get the basket back to extend the lead to three. Free throws for the Cougs would tie the game at 55-apiece as the Bearcats look to close out the game in the final nine minutes. Missed shots plagued the BU offense as IUK extends their lead to ten. The Bearcats couldn't close out the game in the second half as the Cougars took the matchup 70-66.
Taeron Hogg led the team with 20 points on 56% shooting with seven rebounds. Cory Gardner and John Saenz followed with 16 and 14 points and combined for nine rebounds.
The Bearcats will travel to Richmond, IN to take on IU-Southeast on Tuesday, Feb. 6 with a tip-off time of 6:30pm CT.
