Seering Hired To Take Over E-Sports Program
Owensboro, Ky –David Seering has been named as the Head Coach for Esports, as announced by Athletic Director Brian Skortz on Friday May 7th, 2021.
"We are excited to announce David Seering as our new Esports Head Coach here at Brescia University. I look forward in working with him closely in developing and expanding our Esports program. David brings with him experience at the collegiate level guiding his program at Aquinas to a conference championship. We look forward to what he will be able to do here at Brescia University with the program" said Athletic Director Brian Skortz.
Seering inherits a young program as the Bearcats embark on their third season of competition. The team did not compete this past season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"This opportunity is extremely incredible to me. I did not think that I would be doing something within esports up until about a year ago when I fell in love with coaching. Ever since then I have been working incredibly hard to make it my career path to the point where I was doing three different jobs at once while still at school just to make this career possible" said Seering.
Seering comes to Brescia University after recently serving as the head coach at Aquinas College where he led his team to a MEC Championship. He also served as the head coach of New England Storm Wolves where he oversaw three teams and four coaches.
He is a recent graduate from Illinois College in Jackson, Illinois where he graduated with a Finance and Economics degree. At Illinois College he also served as the Treasurer for Alpha Phi Omega.
Seering plans to reside in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Seering duties start immediately.
