Horn Named Head Coach of Brescia e-Sports
Brescia University has hired Matthew Horn to be the Head Coach of Brescia e-Sports.
"I am very excited to get started as the Head Coach. The program is still in its infancy and will continue to grow. We have 20 active students on our varsity teams and look forward to enabling more future Bearcats to compete and achieve their degree," said Horn.
His experience -- within the sport and at Brescia -- was a large factor in his promotion, said Athletic Director Brian Skortz. Horn has been involved with Brescia's e-Sports team since it started three years ago and was the acting head coach for the program last year.
As acting head coach he helped lead the team to wins over the Indiana Institute of Technology, Principia College, and competed in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) CSGO championship, where the Bearcats lost to Maryville University.
"He has a wealth of knowledge, connections, and involvement in the sport," said Skortz.
Horn has competed semi-professionally in e-Sports since 2011, was the Chief Marketing Officer for an e-Sports Organization, and is the Director of Collegiate Programs for Aporia Customs, LLC.
"We are excited to see the program continue to grow going into year three," said Skortz.
