Brescia Cheer makes history!

Brescia University Competitive Cheer Team competed for the first time since becoming an official competitive cheer team. Brescia's very own cheer team opened their season with a virtual competition hosted by Aquinas College on Saturday evening. The Lady Bearcats took 2nd place!

"We almost didn't compete this year, we hit a few rough spots in the beginning. But I am so glad they decided they wanted to compete to make history! For our first competition it wasn't bad, I am so proud of this team. They have nicknamed themselves as the Fab-5, and I truly think they are... it shows" said Coach Wooldridge.

Aquinas College scored 65.35, Brescia University scored 57, and St. Andrews scored 46.05.

The Bearcats automatically took a 5-point deduction for a rules infraction due to having not met the 8-athlete minimum. If it wasn't for that deduction the Lady Bearcats would have finished just right outside of first place with just a .25 separation.

Brescia University competes again this coming weekend 1/28 at Campbellsville University, and 1/29 at Marian University!!
