Hamilton Hired as New Head Baseball Coach

OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Brescia University Athletic Department welcomes new head coach, Casey Hamilton, from Owensboro.

Coach Hamilton is the newest addition to the Bearcat family as he takes the helm of the Bearcat Baseball program. He brings years of head and assistant coaching experience into his newly found position. As a Mississippi State and Western Kentucky baseball player, Hamilton graduated as a Hilltopper with his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science. He first started out as a head baseball coach for the Western Kentucky Dirtbags summer team from 2009-10 where he led the team to an over .500 record (78-28). After a few years assisting in different programs, Hamilton's next head assignment was with the Owensboro Oilers, a hometown summer team. He drove the previous 10-30 team to a 24-18 record and 3rd place in the Ohio Valley Collegiate League. His next opportunity was taking the head coaching job at the University of Pikeville who is an NAIA affiliate in the Mid-South Conference. Hamilton oversaw 55 athletes among the varsity and junior varsity programs while fundraising for facilities and developing player skills. 

At his time in LSU-Shreveport, another NAIA affiliate team, he helped lead the team to a number of records while commanding the offense and catching personel. The #3 nationally ranked team finished 4th in the NAIA World Series with a final record of 30-2. Prior to taking the coaching position at Brescia, Hamilton helped lead the hometown Owensboro Catholic High School Aces to a semifinal appearance in the 2024 KHSAA Baseball State Tournament.
